Four weeks are officially in the books, and the Texas high school football landscape is beginning to take shape.

The first month of the season has already produced major wins, unexpected results and plenty of questions heading into Week 5. Here are the biggest things we learned from the opening four weeks.

Allen Has Built One of the State's Strongest Résumés

Allen continued its undefeated start with a 51-21 win over Prosper in one of Week 4's biggest matchups.

The Eagles trailed early before exploding for 42 consecutive points, turning a competitive game into a statement victory. The win moved Allen to 4-0 and added another major opponent to a résumé that already includes victories over Duncanville, DeSoto and Southlake Carroll.

Allen has now established itself as one of the teams at the center of the Texas championship conversation heading into the second half of September.

North Crowley Is Still Undefeated

North Crowley answered another major test by defeating Duncanville 47-30.

The Panthers had to rally after trailing by a touchdown multiple times, eventually pulling away in the second half. North Crowley finished with 512 yards of total offense and improved to 4-0.

For Duncanville, the result brought the Panthers to 1-3 after losses to Allen, DeSoto and North Crowley.

North Crowley's undefeated record and collection of quality wins make the Panthers one of the most important teams to watch as the season progresses.

Big Programs Are Showing Their Depth

Week 4 wasn't only about the biggest DFW matchups.

Across the state, several established programs delivered dominant performances. North Shore shut out Crosby 58-0, Aledo defeated Granbury 69-0, Waxahachie handled Mansfield Lake Ridge 63-27, and Argyle defeated Highland Park 70-37.

Those results are another reminder of how much depth exists across Texas football. A team doesn't have to come from the state's biggest classification or largest city to make noise.

Week 4 Showed How Quickly Things Can Change

The first four weeks have already changed the way several teams are viewed.

Some preseason contenders have strengthened their résumés with major victories, while other highly regarded programs have already experienced multiple losses. Statewide rankings have also begun shifting as teams accumulate more meaningful results.

With district play underway or approaching for many programs, the importance of every remaining game is only increasing.

The Real Season Is Beginning

Four weeks can tell us a lot about a team, but they don't tell us everything.

The next few weeks will bring more district matchups, playoff implications and opportunities for teams to change the conversation.

Allen and North Crowley remain undefeated. Duncanville is trying to recover from a 1-3 start. Programs such as North Shore, Waxahachie, Aledo and Argyle continue to make statements across their respective classifications.

And with Week 5 approaching, the biggest question is simple:

Which teams will keep rising, and which teams will fall out of the race?

The first month gave us plenty of answers. The next month should give us even more.
