The University Interscholastic League has released the game schedule for the 2026 UIL Football State Championships, which will again be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington from December 16-19. The weekend still features 12 state championship games over four days, but the order of conferences changes from the format that had held since the UIL moved football finals to a single site in 2010.
Wednesday's opening slate is largely unchanged: the two Class 1A six-man finals lead off, and the 2A Division II championship remains the 7 p.m. game.
Thursday is where the reshuffle begins. The 3A Division II final now opens the tripleheader at 11 a.m., the 2A Division I final slides to the middle slot at 3 p.m., and the 3A Division I final closes the day at 7 p.m.
Friday groups the Division II finals in the three largest conferences — 5A Division II at 11 a.m., 4A Division II at 3 p.m., and 6A Division II at 7 p.m. That 6A kickoff marks the first time under the single-site format that a 6A state championship is played on Friday.
Saturday mirrors Friday with the Division I brackets: 5A Division I at 11 a.m., 4A Division I at 3 p.m., and the 6A Division I final capping the season at 7 p.m.
One practical consequence: with the 4A Division I final now on Saturday, 4A Division I programs can be scheduled for state semifinal games on Saturdays, which the previous calendar generally avoided. All kickoff times listed are Central.
