The new La Marque Cougar Stadium will be ready for the Cougars' home opener in Week 3, Dave Campbell's Texas Football reported in its August 11 ranking of the state's top small-school secondaries.
Under the UIL's 2026-27 calendar, Week 3 falls on September 10, 11 and 12, placing the building's debut in the second week of September.
La Marque, whose 2026 program motto is 'Brick by Brick,' went 10-3 last season under head coach Wade Oliphant — the program's deepest playoff run since 2014. Oliphant has said the Cougars' secondary could help them contend for their first district championship in more than a decade.
