Duncanville football has reached a place it hasn't been in nearly a decade.

The Panthers are 1-3.

For the first time since 2015, Duncanville has lost three of its first four games. The Panthers entered 2026 coming off a 12-2 season, but four weeks into this season, they're already facing a situation the program hasn't dealt with in years.

THREE LOSSES IN FOUR GAMES

Duncanville opened the season against Allen and suffered a 26-7 loss.

The Panthers answered back the following week, rolling past Cedar Hill 34-7 for their first win of the season.

Then came DeSoto.

Duncanville fell 21-20 on September 12, dropping its record to 1-2.

One week later, North Crowley defeated Duncanville 47-30 in the Panthers' first district game of the season.

Now, Duncanville sits at 1-3 overall and 0-1 in district play.

THE SCHEDULE HAS BEEN BRUTAL

The Panthers haven't exactly taken the easy route.

Allen, Cedar Hill, DeSoto and North Crowley make up one of the more demanding starts any team could face.

But the losses still count.

Duncanville lost to Allen by 19 points, DeSoto by just one and North Crowley by 17.

The Panthers have shown flashes, but they haven't been able to put together four complete games.

FROM 12-2 TO 1-3

The contrast from last season is impossible to ignore.

Duncanville finished 12-2 in 2025. The Panthers went 13-1 in 2024, 13-1 in 2023 and a perfect 15-0 in 2022.

Since 2015, Duncanville has built one of the most consistent programs in Texas high school football.

Now, four games into 2026, the Panthers already have three losses.

That's unfamiliar territory.

DISTRICT PLAY CHANGES EVERYTHING

The good news for Duncanville is that the season isn't over.

The Panthers still have six district games remaining, beginning with Red Oak on September 25.

After that comes Mansfield, Crowley, Waxahachie, Mansfield Lake Ridge and Dallas Skyline.

At 0-1 in district play, every remaining game becomes increasingly important.

NOW, THE RESPONSE

Duncanville has spent years being the team other programs measure themselves against.

This season, the Panthers are the ones trying to climb back into the conversation.

A 1-3 start doesn't erase everything Duncanville has accomplished over the past decade.

But it does create a situation the program hasn't faced in a long time.

Three losses.

One district loss.

Six district games left.

The question now isn't how Duncanville got here.

It's what the Panthers do next.
