Dave Campbell's Texas Football has published the preseason district MVP selections from its 2026 magazine, releasing the Class 5A list on August 14 and the Class 4A list on August 17.
These are magazine projections made before a snap has been played, chosen by DCTF's staff. They are not UIL honors and not district-voted awards, which are decided by district coaches after the regular season.
For recruiting purposes the value is exposure rather than evaluation: a preseason MVP tag puts a name in front of readers and college staffs in August, but postseason all-district voting is what appears in a player's official record.
