Allen Was Supposed to Go 0-3. Now They're 3-0.
Entering the 2026 season, Allen wasn't supposed to have an easy start.
The Eagles opened the year with three of the biggest names in Texas high school football on their schedule: Duncanville, DeSoto and Southlake Carroll.
An 0-3 start wasn't difficult to imagine.
Instead, Allen has gone 3-0.
The Eagles opened the season with a 26-7 statement win over Duncanville, then followed it with a 50-6 demolition of DeSoto before traveling to Southlake Carroll and leaving with a 56-35 victory.
Allen has now scored 132 points through three games while allowing just 48, outscoring its opponents by 84 points.
A Statement From the Start
The first test came against Duncanville in the MaxPreps Game of the Week.
Allen entered the matchup against a Duncanville team that had been ranked No. 1 in Texas entering the season by MaxPreps. The Eagles responded with a 26-7 win behind a defense that recorded eight sacks. Sophomore quarterback Ty Snell also threw two touchdown passes in the victory.
The win immediately changed the conversation surrounding Allen.
Then came DeSoto.
Allen Didn't Slow Down
One week later, Allen dominated DeSoto from start to finish, winning 50-6.
According to MaxPreps, Allen totaled 170 passing yards and 123 rushing yards in the victory.
Through the first two games, the Eagles had already beaten two teams that were expected to challenge them early in the season.
But Southlake Carroll presented another major test.
Another Statement Against Carroll
Southlake Carroll entered the matchup with plenty of momentum after opening its season with a wild 34-33 comeback win over Jenks and had been ranked No. 6 in the official Texas high school football rankings after Week 1.
Allen, however, controlled the matchup and came away with a 56-35 victory, moving to 3-0.
Three games into the season, the Eagles have gone from being questioned because of their schedule to becoming the team everyone is now watching.
Ty Snell Has Been a Difference Maker
A major reason for Allen's fast start has been sophomore quarterback Ty Snell.
MaxPreps currently lists Snell with a 71.0% completion rate, 333 passing yards and six touchdown passes through the first two games recorded in its current season statistics. He also has 77 rushing yards.
Snell isn't the only player producing.
Wide receiver Zach Williams leads Allen with 168 receiving yards and four total touchdowns, while linebacker Raiden Johnson is averaging eight tackles per game. Defensively, Jacobie Wilkerson, Beckhem Parker and Hova Wilford are each listed with two sacks, while Jeremiah Storey leads the team with two interceptions.
Now Comes Prosper
The first three games were supposed to define Allen's season.
Instead, they've completely changed the expectations.
The Eagles are now 3-0, ranked No. 1 in Texas by MaxPreps, and preparing for another road matchup against Prosper on Sept. 17.
What was supposed to be an 0-3 start has become one of the strongest openings in Texas high school football.
And Allen isn't finished yet.
