Dave Campbell's Texas Football has published Matt Stepp's Class 5A Division I Region I outlook, projecting district finishes, bi-district matchups and regional champions for the 2026 season.
Programs named in the outlook include Denton Ryan, Abilene, Wolfforth Frenship and Saginaw Chisholm Trail — a mix of North Texas and West Texas programs that shapes one of the longest-travel regions in 5A.
These are projections, not results. Region I brackets are not set until district certification, which the UIL calendar places on November 7, with bi-district games opening the week of November 12.
